USW Locals 2010, 2010-02, and 2010-02
Representing Academic Assistants, Residence Dons, and Support Staff at Queen’s University
Dear Local 2010, 2010-01, and 2010-02 Members:
It is my honor to continue serving as your President for a fifth term, representing the hard-working members of United Steelworkers Local 2010 (Support Staff), Local 2010-01 (Academic Assistants), and Local 2010-02 (Residence Dons). Since 2012, I have been on full-time release in the Union Office, dedicated to advocating for the rights and needs of our members. Prior to this role, I worked as the Graduate Program Assistant and Professional Development Course Coordinator in the Department of Geological Sciences and Geological Engineering at Queen’s University, and have long been passionate about labour activism.
My primary goal as President is to ensure that every member of our union feels supported, whether you’re navigating a grievance process, seeking clarity on your rights, or simply looking for guidance in the workplace. We are here to listen, act, and advocate on your behalf, and I am committed to making sure your voice is heard at every level of the university and beyond.
I also want to extend my deepest gratitude to our incredible office staff. Their unwavering dedication and hard work are the backbone of this union, and I am thankful for their support every day. Together, we ensure that you receive the highest level of service and representation possible.
As we move forward, please know that the strength of our union lies in the solidarity of its members. I encourage all of you to stay engaged and to reach out whenever you need support or have questions. Whether it’s related to ongoing bargaining efforts, job re-evaluation processes, pay equity issues, or remote work arrangements, we are here for you.
Thank you for your continued trust and support.
In solidarity,
Kelly
President, USW Local 2010
